  "In The Time of the Butterflies...Fiesta..."

A tale of courage and sisterhood set in the Dominican Republic during the rise of the Trujillo dictatorship. A skillful blend of fact and fiction, In the Time of the Butterflies is inspired by the true story of the three Mirabal sisters who, in 1960, were murdered for their part in an underground plot to overthrow the government. These sisters, known as "las mariposas," or "the butterflies," were heavily involved with the revolution against Trujillo.  We went on a tour of their once home that has not been dedicated as a museum in their honor.  One word...beautiful.

The pictures following are photographs of the fiesta that we threw for our clinical sites in honor and thanks for their support for the past 10 years of the PT ILAC program in the DR.
