Matthew surprised Gena by first surprising her in the Dominican Republic while she was on clinical rotation for pharmacy. But, that was only the first surprise. The second surprise came when Matthew took Gena to the beach one night and decided to play a game in the sand...called "Say it in English." Gena was confused...but played along...we started by writing words in spanish in the sand and the other person had to translate it into english...finally Matthew got down on the ground and began to write in the sand "Casate con migo?" With a confused look Gena guessed and guessed to no avail..."Kiss me?"..."Hug Me?"...I don't know...Matthew then got down on one knee, put his hand in his pocket, pulled out the ring he had been securely keeping close to his person for the entire trip, and said "Will you marry me?" The rest...well...we are getting married!"
